Step into the world of sustainable beauty through the eyes of Lian Li, a Parisian photographer now calling Sheffield home. With an award-winning touch, Lian’s work marries nature, storytelling, and an early passion for photography, born from a love of Molière and all things French culture. Immersed in the language of French literature and cinema, her artistry was shaped by greats like Luc Besson, Olivier Assayas, and Agnès Varda – visionaries who taught her to see the world through a different lens.
From the vibrant streets of Paris to the serene countryside, Lian's early experiences laid the groundwork for her visual storytelling. As a portrait and advertising photographer, she refined her craft, collaborating with top advertising agencies and editorials in Paris and London, always bringing a touch of elegance and sustainability to every frame.

Lian's extraordinary talent has been recognised through prestigious awards and captivating exhibitions. One of her groundbreaking installations, DJ Dwayne was exhibited in 2003 at The Palais Tokyo for La Nuit Blanche festival and later in 2005 at Le Bon Marche, Rive Gauche in Paris. This thought-provoking piece delves into the dynamics of fame in the social media age.
Lian's artistic prowess also extends to directing. She embarked on a thrilling journey with the renowned production agency Partizan, creating two mesmerising music videos for the Swedish singer-songwriter Peter Von Poehl for his first solo album, Going to Where The Tea Trees Are.
Lian’s artistic journey has been one of versatility and boundless curiosity. She’s a creative shape-shifter, moving seamlessly between mediums and exploring fresh dimensions of expression wherever she goes.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Lian took an unexpected turn – she began cultivating a small garden in her front yard, growing vegetables and wildflowers. It was a simple act with a profound effect, nurturing not just plants but also a deeper sense of well-being. This connection between growing, capturing, and living sustainably became central to her work, weaving mental health, biodiversity, and visual storytelling together.
Today, Lian’s photography is a testament to that harmony – an art that doesn’t just depict the world but aims to care for it. Her images reveal the beauty in the ordinary, reminding us that wonder is everywhere if you know where to look. It's an invitation to see the world through her eyes – where art, nature, and sustainability meet, and where even the smallest details hold a hidden, extraordinary beauty.
